Chili Powder & Paprika Grilled Chops

Pork Loin Stir Fry

Need easy?  We got easy!  Delicious, simple and quick.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in pork chops
  • 2 tsp each of chili powder, paprika, sea salt and onion or garlic powder (optional).

Preparation:

  1. Mix chili powder, paprika, sea salt and onion or garlic powder in a small bowl.
  2. Apply 1tsp to each side of chops and rub in.  Allow to set 1-4 hours so the spices will be absorbed into the chops.
  3. Consider adding some fresh, local asparagus to the grill with olive oil and salt.
  4. Grill and enjoy!

Pork Loin Stir Fry

Pork Loin Stir Fry

We absolutely love this simple stir fry recipe that will make 6 nice servings.  Be sure to use fresh, local kale and carrots from the farmer’s market to make this recipe the best it can be!  This recipe can be made for under $30 using all local ingredients, or about $5/serving.

Ingredients:

  • 1 boneless pork loin (1.5-2lbs)
  • 1 onion
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 lb. carrots
  • 1 red pepper
  • 5 cups kale (uncooked)
  • 1 cup quiona
  • 2 tbs raw honey
  • 1 tbs Braggs Amino
  • 2-4 tbs olive oil
  • salt to taste

Preparation:

  1. Cook 1 cup of quinoa according to package directions.  Set aside.
  2. Cut roast into bite size pieces, salt and brown in large skillet with olive oil.
  3. Remove from skillet and add additional olive oil, sauté onions until translucent then add garlic and sauté about a minute.
  4. Add carrots, red pepper, honey and Braggs – stir together until vegetables are thoroughly coated.  Cover and allow to cook until veggies reach desired tenderness – stirring occasionally.
  5. Add kale making sure to mix it in thoroughly, then add cooked pork and quinoa. Stir until all is completely incorporated.
  6. Let sit covered for 5 – 10 minutes before eating just to let all the flavors gel together.

Option 1 – Big Simpson Sampler:

The “Big Simpson Sampler” holiday box will be an awesome mix of our pastured poultry, forest raised pork and 100% grass-fed black Angus beef.  The retail value of this package is over $235.00, but we are offering it at over a 15% discount with free delivery for $199.00.  However, we are only making 10 of these available!

So what’s included?  It is a terrific mix with some of our most popular products:

Pastured Poultry:

  • 2 whole chickens
  • 2 packages of chicken breast
  • 1 package of chicken frames for soup stock

Forest Raised Pork:

  • 3 packages of center cut pork chops
  • 1 package of our all-natural smoked bacon
  • 2lbs of sausage  – one each of breakfast and sweet Italian
  • 3lbs of pork spare ribs

  • 1 package of t-bone steaks

However, just like the Big Simpson Sampler quantities are limited and we’ll only make 10 of these available!  Here is what you will receive:

The fine print:

For all packages we are also expanding our normal delivery area to all of greater Indianapolis including Zionsville, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Lawrence, Wanamaker, Avon, Brownsburg & Plainfield.  We will also include all of Johnson County, Morgan County and the greater Bloomington and Elletsville areas as well.  Please note that all package sizes listed are approximate and not every box will be exactly the same.  All boxes will include the number of packages indicated and will meet or exceed the retail value listed.  Deliveries will take place between 10am – 6pm on either Wednesday, December 13th or Wednesday, December 20th.   You can also choose to pick up your box at the Indy Winter Farmer’s Market on December 16th or the 23rd or at the Binford Buying Club on December 23rd.  Finally, you may pick up your box at the farm any day (on or before December 23rd) by appointment.

Pineapple Grilled Pork Chops

You can’t go wrong with a yummy marinade, forest raised pork and grilled pineapple rings!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (16 ounce) can pineapple rings, juice drained and reserved
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup Braggs Amino Acid (soy sauce substitute)
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder or fresh pressed garlic clove
  • black pepper to taste
  • 4 forest raised center cut or sirloin pork chops

Directions:

  1. Mix together the juice, sugar, braggs and garlic into a marinade until sugar dissolves.
  2. Let marinate at least 4-6 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Grill chops until done, about 5-8 minutes per side.
  4. Add fresh ground pepper to taste.
  5. While chops are grilling, place pineapple rings on grill and allow to cook until hot.
  6. Serve pineapple ring on top of chops and enjoy!
